Dear Dad: Although I have surpassed you in height, I will always look up to you as the man who raised me.
Often times we look back on the loved ones we have lost in life and we long to…
We would give anything to bring them back, even momentarily. But the question is, did you give everything to show them how you felt when they were here. Life is something we all take for granted at times and it’s important to let those near and dear to us know just how much they mean before it’s too late. I lost my mother years ago and anyone who knows me will tell you that I was the definition of a “Mamma’s boy.” If I cut up—she spanked me. If I needed advice—she counseled me. When seeking direction—she guided me.
It was my father; however, whose belief in me and encouragement fueled every endeavor I have ever encountered. And to my father I say, if you’re reading this right now, “dad, I want you to know that you are, and always will be, my hero. I love you.”
For anyone else reading, don’t wait until someone is near-death or dying to tell them how you feel…do it today, and do it often.

This is a good reminder for all if us. I live far away from my family so calling weekly keeps us close.
I’ve always been a big believer in saying I love you often and not staying angry or frustrated at someone, because I don’t want that to be the “last” words/encounters/thoughts I had about someone that I love. This is a beautiful reminder. It brought tears to my eyes.
Beautifully said, I lost my father two years ago. Thanks for this post
To something said so beautifully with so much depth we normally say “mashaa Allah” meaning
” just as God wished”
You really inspire not only the “young” but the “old” as well.
